Hennessey Venom GT Spyder: The World’s Fastest Convertible

The Hennessey Venom, being one of the world’s fastest vehicles is now the world fastest open top sports car.
The Texas-based outfit pushed their Venom GT Spyder to a new world record at The Naval Air Station Lemoore with a top speed of 265.6 mph (427.3 km/h).
The record was monitored and certified by Racelogic.

“I’ve wanted to test the top speed of our Venom GT Spyder, without the roof, ever since our coupe ran 270.4 mph on the Space Shuttle landing runway at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in 2014,” said John Hennessey, the company founder in a news release.

The car is powered by twin turbo 7 L V8 engine with 1,451bhp.
Hennessey will be producing three world record edition Venom GT Spyders for their 25th anniversary. Each car will cost around $1.3 million.
