The Top 10 American Supercars

By  |

When you mentioned Super cars or Hyper Cars, the moniker usually goes to everywhere but American vehicles.
This is a shame, as America clearly produces world beating super cars like the Hennessey Venom.

But why is this so?
The Lamborghinis, McLarens, Zondas, etc. of the world all get the limelight as a European super or hyper car, just seems more ‘exotic’ and at this end of the market, image and exclusivity are paramount.
But American super cars are now showing their presence and have a distinct advantage.
American cars are known for their ‘muscle.’ Now with added super car presence, they can have their cake and eat it.
It’s a bit like the Incredible Hulk been able to dance Swanlake – grace and balance, along with the ability to tear a hole in the road.

So here are the top 10 American super cars which shouldn’t just whet your appetite, they should serve as your starter, main course, side orders, desert and enough beverages to keep you going all night. (sorry for the food analogies, I’m now hungry….)
Some will say that one or two of the cars below are just pure muscle cars or sports cars, not super cars.  But if you have the power and performance of a super car or hyper car,  you are included in the list.

‘In 2014, a Hennessey Venom GT was recorded as exceeding 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but as the run was in one direction only, and only 16 cars out of a planned total of 29 have been sold, it does not qualify under the Guinness Book of Records or this list’s criteria as the worlds fastest production car.’ ….boo, hiss!
